Ivan Kovčić is a Croatian goalkeeping specialist with extensive academy and national-team experience, and a strong background in coach education focused on goalkeeper methodology. He worked with the Croatian Football Federation as a Goalkeeping Coach for the Croatia U19 national team (Sep 2023–Mar 2024), supporting elite youth goalkeepers within the national programme.
At GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Ivan spent over seven years as a Goalkeeping Coach (Aug 2016–Mar 2024) and later progressed into senior leadership as Head of Academy Goalkeeping (Jan 2023–Mar 2024), overseeing goalkeeper development across the academy structure in Zagreb. Prior to Dinamo, he developed his coaching pathway in Croatian football through academy and goalkeeper coaching roles at NK Dubrava Tim Kabel (Jul 2013–Jul 2017) and NK Dugo Selo (Jan 2015–Jul 2016). Alongside his work in football, he has also worked in education as a physical education professor at “Retkovec” Elementary School in Zagreb (May 2015–May 2016).
Ivan holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Zagreb (2007–2014) and has completed professional development through the Croatian FA International Goalkeeping Conference (issued Jun 2018 and Jun 2019). He speaks English and specialises in goalkeeper coach education and modern goalkeeper methodology within academy football.
