Jarred Marsh

Jarred Marsh is a strength and conditioning coach and educator whose work spans long-term athlete development, individualised periodisation within team settings, and applied player management across multiple sports. In January 2026 he founded Allez Lausanne, a community-focused running club based in Lausanne, Switzerland, created to bring people together through inclusive running experiences—from performance-driven sessions to social group runs.

Alongside his community work, Marsh remains active in performance and education roles in South Africa. He has worked at St John’s College since January 2025 as a Life Orientation Educator, teaching senior phase students within the CAPS curriculum across topics such as human rights and civic systems. He also serves as Undergraduate Grader at Setanta College (from May 2025), contributing to assessment and academic support remotely.

In applied sport, Marsh has been Head of Strength and Conditioning since July 2022 in Johannesburg, where he leads physical preparation programmes with an emphasis on building robust, transferable athletic qualities and integrating individual athlete needs into team training structures. He also supports talent pathway environments as U18A Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Southern Gauteng Hockey Association (from May 2024), managing physical performance for the Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) and the preparation block leading into competition.

Earlier in his career, Marsh contributed to the wider sport science space as a freelance Contributor for Science for Sport(September 2021–December 2024), producing applied content grounded in research and practice. His practical affiliations across football include experience with Kaizer Chiefs Football Club and the South African Women’s National Football Team, reflecting exposure to high-performance team environments and the demands of elite player support.

Marsh completed an MSc in Exercise Science (Med) at the University of Cape Town (2014–2017). His postgraduate research examined injury trends in youth tournaments, titled: “Injury Incidence and Severity at the South African Rugby Union (SARU) Youth Week Tournaments, A Four Year Study.” He is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) (2014). His safety and professional credentials include Basic Emergency First Aid Responder(issued September 2025; expires August 2028) and registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
