Jeff Richardson, MSc is an academy goalkeeping coach and coach educator whose work blends modern goalkeeper methodology with applied psychology and skill acquisition principles. He is currently an Academy Goalkeeping Coach at Brentford Football Club (September 2024–present), working day-to-day in an elite development environment where technical detail, learning design, and long-term player progression are central to the role.
Alongside his club work, Richardson is a long-standing Lecturer with ISSPF (June 2020–present), delivering education that connects goalkeeping practice with coach pedagogy and performance psychology. His ISSPF contributions centre on how coaches can design learning environments that accelerate goalkeeper development, while also supporting the human side of performance—particularly topics linked to emotion, anxiety, coping skills, and pressure management in elite football. Richardson’s academic background is through University College Dublin, where he completed an MSc in Coaching Science in Sport (2018–2020) and a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Management (2014–2016).
