Social Profiles
Konstadinos Jani

Konstadinos Jani is a sports scientist and performance practitioner who specialises in soccer physiology, with a clear applied focus on competition-induced fatigue and the practical recovery strategies that help players maintain performance across congested schedules. He currently serves as Head of Sports Science at Adelaide Olympic FC in South Australia (October 2023–present), leading the monitoring, planning, and physical performance support needed to manage weekly load, readiness, and recovery in a competitive team environment.

Alongside his club role in Australia, Jani is the owner of Soccer Performance (January 2021–present), a part-time performance project based in Tirana, Albania, centred on fitness and skills development. His work in Albania has also included senior leadership in football performance innovation, notably as Co-Founder of TIRANA Lab at KF Tirana (November 2021–October 2023), following an extended period as Head of Sports Science at Tirana FC (July 2019–September 2023). Across these roles, his profile reflects deep experience in building applied monitoring systems and translating training data into actionable coaching decisions.

Within ISSPF, he contributes as a lecturer (July 2020–present), delivering content that examines how competition loads create fatigue across neuromuscular, metabolic, and perceptual systems, and how practitioners can implement recovery processes that are realistic in professional football settings. His teaching emphasises practical solutions—how to sequence recovery, manage the training microcycle, and adjust strategies based on match exposure, travel, individual profiles, and positional demands—so players can repeatedly hit the physical outputs required by the modern game.

Academically, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Thessaly (Trikala, Greece) and a master’s degree in High Performance in Sports: Strength & Conditioning from UCAM (Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, Spain), with study areas including biomechanics and movement analysis, program design, exercise physiology, sports nutrition, and strength training methodology. He also holds a FIFA Diploma in Medicine, Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation (2019) and a UEFA B coaching licence (issued December 2011), reinforcing his ability to connect sport science, injury-risk awareness, and coaching practice within the daily reality of football.
