Hamish Munro

Hamish Munro is a physical performance coach and lecturer who spent more than a decade working across professional sport and higher education, building a career that blends applied strength and conditioning practice with coach and student development. From October 2011 to October 2021, he worked full-time across the UK, the Middle East, and the Far East, gaining first-hand experience of different sporting cultures and performance environments. His coaching focus has centred on designing and delivering tailored strength and conditioning programmes to support elite athlete development, while his academic work has included lecturing roles that helped prepare future practitioners for the realities of high-performance sport.

Across his career, Munro has worked with a range of notable organisations, including Bristol City Football Club, Shabab Al Ahli FC in the UAE, Qinghai Senke FC in China, and education providers such as Weston College and Wiltshire College. His broader practical experience also includes early development roles and internships with Norwich City FC and Peterborough United FC, as well as work with Chengdu Blades FC, reflecting a pathway that spans academy-to-first-team contexts and multiple international leagues.

Academically, he completed an MSc in Applied Sport Science at the University of Worcester (2017–2019) and has studied across St Mary’s University, the University of Bedfordshire, and the University of Worcester. He also holds a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning through the Chartered Insurance Institute, reflecting a broader interest in professional development beyond sport.
