Mirko Mazzantini

Mirko Mazzantini is an experienced Italian youth-development coach and academy leader, recognised for long-term work in elite academy environments and for shaping technical development pathways across the foundation and youth development phases.

He is currently Technical Director for ACF Fiorentina (U8–U15), a role he has held since July 2020, overseeing age-group methodology, coach support, and the progression of technical and tactical learning across the academy’s formative years. Prior to this, he spent a decade as Head Coach of Fiorentina U15 (July 2010 – July 2020), leading the day-to-day development of players at a key transition stage and aligning training content with the club’s technical identity and competitive demands.

Before joining Fiorentina, Mazzantini worked at Empoli FC for almost ten years (August 2000 – June 2010) as Head Coach (U16/U14), adding extensive experience across multiple age groups and building a strong foundation in long-term player development and academy structure.

Alongside his football roles, he has sustained leadership and business responsibilities, serving in Direzione Generale at CafèNoir (November 2012 – present) and previously as Owner of SOCCER ITALIAN STYLE SNC (February 2009 – October 2024), reflecting a background that combines sporting expertise with organisational management and operational oversight.

Academically, he studied at the University of Pisa, completing a degree in Business Economics (Economia Aziendale). He also holds the UEFA A Licence (FIGC, 2016, graded 106/110). Mazzantini speaks Italian and English.

Within a faculty or contributor profile, his content feature aligns naturally with youth academy leadership, and his specialist area is technical development, with a focus on building coherent age-group methodology, designing progressive training frameworks, and supporting coaches to deliver consistent player development outcomes from U8 through U15.
